Enjoying the last Saturday in April 2010

Greetings from my garden home,
Spring is everywhere around us  here and although these peony stems popping their little heads through the still cool dark soil may blur the line between pink and purple, it sure is great to see them emerge after the cold of winter.
It has been an early spring for us here in the northeast and I am wondering if a frost will kill all this wonderful display and then everything will have to begin again. Before there is any harvest, there is preparing the soil, planting the seed, tending the garden, and then the harvest or in this case , a gorgeous display of color. Gardening is a glorious work of anticipation and wonder. I am always amazed at our Creator's work and design!!!
I love my garden!
Tuesday was my little grand-daughter's 5th birthday and she came over to celebrate and bake a cake with her Mema, me. I told her I had several little presents and we started with these great dress-up shoes and of course because she just loves to pose for pictures here are her shoes, or to coin her phrase Viola!!!!
Oh if they would only stay little longer. Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you get to visit some of the other pink displays by going to our sweet host Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. Blessings to you, Meg

Happy Pink Saturday! A friend of mine lives in New Hampshire - she says when spring bursts out it's serious business b/c the spring/summer seasons are short compared to the long winters. I've been enjoying our spring b/c the drought and dead of winter were tough. Love your post and those shoes are sweet! Thanks, Jenn

Meg, we can only hope on the moving. As long time southerners, the expense of living in the northeast (and, then the economy on my biz) has thrown us for a "loop"! However, I understand houses get shown to prospective buyers only once a month if you are lucky. Very odd after Orlando and Dallas.

I am so thankful for the buds and green and flowers that came to Stowe early this year, too. We should still have snow.

Visiting around still for Pink Saturday. Have a great week!

Hi, Meg
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your encouraging comments. God is teaching me to live in the "now" and it's a transition but He is loving and persistent.
Have a lovely Sunday!

You are so lucky to have your little grand-daughter close by and do things with. :) My peonies are up and full of buds. I think they grew a couple of inches every night. I love them! Wonder if there is any way to keep the ants off of them

Meg, Looking forward to seeing your bloomers on Bloomin' Tuesday! I love the garden cart and can't believe what you got it for. My peonies are about the same as yours. Thanks for stopping by! Jean
