Pink Plates

These plates were a gift from my older sister when she discovered how much I loved flowers and pink. It seems that she received them from our paternal grandmother, an avid flower gardener, and was using them for trays under her plants!!!! I have three of them and the flowers are just lovely. I wish I had been there when they cleaned out my grandmothers stuff, we were truly kindred spirits and I know she had many things I would have considered treasures to value more than their monetary value. But since I wasn't the few things I do have are priceless. Happy Pink Days to all you gals out there on Pink Saturday. Thank You Bev from How Sweet the Sound for making this fun day happen here in blog-land xooxo Meg

Meg, I'm delighted you dropped by and left a comment, sweetpea. Yesssss, my grandma and I were kindred spirits also! And life truly did begin in a "garden", sugar, most assuredly!

Hi, Meg,
Your blog is beautiful. What a pretty pink plate from your grandmother. That makes it even more special, doesn't it? Meg, I will be holding you close to my heart as your son goes to Iraq. Both of my sons were in the military and served proudly. My youngest son was in Iraq for a year. I know some of what you are feeling right now. Thank you so much for leaving a comment for me at "Bunny Cottage". Come and visit with me often. Vicki

Cold, dark, raining all week. Summer is not going to make it to northern Michigan this year. We haven't seen many days over 70! WOWZA! So, with that in mind, Pink Saturday is especially important for me. I sit back and cruise around the blogs filling myself to the brim with my favorite color.

♥Thanks so much for adding a bit of sunshine to my day♥

Hi Meg, So glad to hear from you and your kinds words are such a help. The only way you can truly know how someone feels who has lost a child is if you have been there. I did not know this before. I am so sorry about your son. I am very lucky with my gd. We will get to raise her and have been very involved in her life since she was born. This is the hardest journey God has sent me on but I know he will watch over us and take me through.
God Bless and anytime you just need to talk drop me a line.
Love and hugs,
Judy

I like rose-printed dishes, too. I have an odd assortment. I'm glad you have this link to your grandmother. My paternal grandmother was very special to me, also. I look forward to your email. Hope I can help :)

Happy Pink Saturday, Meg! Those plates are so pretty! I'm glad your sister gave them to you! I missed out on many heirloom things too. I lived across the country and wasn't able to be there when things were divided. I still have the fond memories of my Aunties and Grandma and did receive a few small odds and ends that I cherish.

Have a lovely weekend!

A very lovely little plate. It is a shame when we had the chance to keep these type treasure, we probably did not care to. At least, I have gotten rid of things in the past, I wish I still had. But guess that is just part of life.
